Welcome To N.P. Sandhyakalin Snatak College

The library provides many students with their first chance to use and enjoy a library. The college library is a welcoming place for study and reading. The college library is to support the students and teachers by providing access to current, adequate and appropriate information resources. It is also to ensure that all the students, teachers and staff are effectively using the ideas and information. The library encourages the love of reading and development of student’s independent learning skills.

N.P. Sandhyakalin Snatak College library has both printed as well as audio-visual material like CD-ROM and DVDS. There are plenty of books, encyclopedias, picture books, activity books, dictionaries. The library has books on literature in Hindi, urdu and English. We have around 20,500 books in our library.

Our college library plays a key role in the cultural and social life of the school. It can be a central point for engagement with all kinds of reading, cultural activities, access to information, knowledge building, deep thinking and lively discussion. The library has computers and a fully interactive white board as well as, a scanner, photocopier and printers.

Library rules and regulations:

a) All students must come to the library in an orderly manner.

b) Students must maintain silence and discipline in the library.

c) No personal books, bags are permitted inside the library.

d) Eatables or water bottles are not allowed inside.

e) Students must maintain a library notebook to write reviews of the books they read. It is compulsory to bring the library notebook in the library period and a pencil. Any loss or damage to books must be paid for by the borrower.

f) Library cards are given at the beginning of the session and students must return them at the end of the session for clearance.

g) Students are allowed to borrow books on their own cards. Library cards are not transferable.

h) Loss of library cards must be reported immediately.

i) An application by the parents along with a fine of Rs. 30/- must be submitted in the library for the issue of a duplicate card.

j) Books not returned by the specified dates will attract a fine of Rs.20/- per week.

k) Students are not permitted in the library in any period other than the library period except with written permission from the concerned Supervisory Head.
